A dual story of past and present: filmmaker Howard Brookner died of AIDS in 1989 on the brink of a promising career; his nephew Aaron Brookner embarks on a journey 25 years later to unearth Howard’s archive, films and legacy buried in the bunker of William S. Burroughs. Along the way he uncovers a portrait of 70s/80s New York, bohemian life, art, sex, drugs, the AIDS crisis and his uncle’s many facets.
